Southern Hospitality and Last Minute Game Day Outfits

In an amazing display of southern hospitality and SEC sportsmanship, LSU opened up Death Valley to the South Carolina Gamecocks this weekend.

Due to the massive amount of flooding that occurred in South Carolina last week, the match-up between the Tigers and the Gamecocks had to be moved just a few days before kickoff.

The short-notice of the game change did not deter the university or the city of Baton Rouge from extending a warm welcome to our neighbors from South Carolina.

While this game did produce one of the smallest crowds that Tiger Stadium has ever seen, it did not prevent girls from pulling out all of the stops with their game day outfits and I was able to catch a few of my sorority sisters before they headed out to tailgate. They helped me show off some of the different ways you can style and outfit for a long day of LSU football.

This weekend I was happily cheering for the Tigers from New Orleans, where my family and I celebrated my great grandmother's 97th birthday!

Jersey style

Emma looks comfy and cute in her #7 LSU jersey (#FournetteForHeisman #BugaNation) with Converse shoes. Read all about Emma on her blog, The Average Adventures of Me

Cutoffs and Cowboys

I love Mandy’s top! It is great for a daytime game and dresses up her cowboy boots and cutoff jean shorts perfectly. Cowboy boots are a must for tailgating in the south.

Effortlessly cool

Gigi looks edgy and effortlessly cool in her tiger tank and black cutoff shorts. Her accessories and fringed ankle booties complete the look.

Sundress and sandals

Laura’s dress with sheer ¾ length sleeves is great for the cooler, cloudy weather that stuck around during most of the day. Her lace up sandals are on-trend and her yellow sorority button stands out against her purple dress.

Classically comfy

Emily makes this easy, throw-it-on style dress look classic and comfortable. In typical Emily style, she chose to wear that specific game day button because “the red heart goes so well with a bold red lip."

The key to all of these outfits is comfort. These girls know that Tiger fans take their game days very seriously, even if the game is not originally not scheduled to be at home in Death Valley. These outfits will take my sorority sisters from tailgating on the Parade Grounds to the stadium's student section, and keep them looking great all day and night.
