Podcast: How to Stay Focused on Your Faith While in College

This week I had the opportunity to sit down with my friend Sara, who leads our sorority bible study every week, to talk about the best ways to stay focused on your faith while in college

I think that this is such an important part of your growth and development throughout college because your faith can keep you focused and on the right path.

Sara had some great tips to share. Check out a few of my favorites below:

  1. Make the time. Everyone is so busy in college, but making time to focus on your faith is the first step.
  2. Find a community. Find a local church to attend. Join a bible study within your community. At LSU, there is a bible study for Greek students and many of the sororities have their own bible study groups.
  3. Get involved. Once you find a faith community, get to know the people there and get involved. In college, everyone is going through a lot of the same things. This group will be there to support you in your faith journey and keep you accountable.

College can be an overwhelming experience, especially when you are trying to balance school with campus involvement, an internship, and other obligations. When you’re focused on your faith, your relationship with God can be an outlet that provides comfort in the stressful times, and helps you form a greater appreciation for the joyful times.
